Lydia is a neurodivergent clinical psychologist and a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists who loves supporting her awesome clients to find joy, connection, work and study opportunities through their passions. She often acts as an interpreter between neurodivergent and neurotypical people, helping them understand each other’s perspectives. Lydia enjoys tailoring autism strategies to the needs of Autistic individuals of all ages and their families, and empowering them to advocate for appropriate supports and accommodations.
Lydia has been working with neurodivergent individuals since 1998, and as a Registered Psychologist from 2002. She is a popular speaker, presenting at autism conferences around the world. She provides training on neurodiversity affirming approaches for teachers of Autistic students.
Lydia offers group and individual clinical supervision and retreats for psychologists around providing neurodiversity affirming autism assessments, and tailoring supports and accommodations for neurodivergent clients and their families.
Based on her national workshop series, Lydia's new book 'Beyond IQ Scores' encourages clinicians to pay attention to the qualitative aspects of psychometric assessment, not just the test scores. The way a child or adolescent approaches the assessment and interacts with the assessor can provide clues for further assessment, supports and accommodations.
